Australian Wedding Capitals Guide to Applying Tropical Climate Make-up

As a bride getting married in Australia, looking your absolute best on your wedding day is very important and your face and skin are your crowning jewels. Remember you will be photographed many times during a day full of love and emotion and your choice of mmaryam-maquillage-ake-up is crucial.

The Tropical North Queensland climate is as it sounds, “very tropical”, meaning you will most likely be dealing with humidity that you may not be used to, and applying makeup in these conditions can be tricky. Naturally air-conditioning is the answer for keeping cool so make sure you have access to it while preparing for your special wedding day in the Cairns & Port Douglas region.

Australian Wedding Capital provides contact with professionals in this field that will happily come to you and apply the type of makeup that best suits your face shape and your skin tone.  These makeup artists are highly trained and can create the very best look for you that will survive the elements of the tropical climate.

The finished product should leave your eyes defined, brows groomed, skin looking radiant and shimmering, lashes long and fluttery, and cheeks and lips looking kissable and glamorous.

When it comes to tropical wedding makeup, the perfect result is not having to touch up anything all day other than your lipstick.

The Traditional History of the Cutting of the Wedding Cake, and some Tropical Cake Decorating Ideas.

The traditional history of the cutting of the wedding cake.

The cutting of the cake is a task full of symbolism. The cake was originally intended to be distributed among the guests by only the bride because consuming the cake would ensure fertility.
As weddings grew and the number of guests increased this task became a joint venture, the groom needed to help cut the growing cake and distribute it among their guests.
Layers of cakes began to pile up and the icing would need to support the weight of the cake making is very difficult for one person to cut. The groom would assist the bride in this process.
Once this tradition began the bride and groom would share a piece of cake before distributing it to the guests to symbolize their union and their promise to forever provide for each other.

Tropical ideas for your destination wedding cake.cake1231

Wedding cakes were traditionally topped with a formally dresses bride and groom; also the size of the cake was a symbol of wealth; however it is far more common today to have cakes decorated in a more personal way and the size is depicted by the amount of guests attending.

The personal touch can be by choosing a shared interest as the theme, or a more tropical finish to suit your destination wedding. Fresh tropical flowers are very popular or the added touch of colour, picking up the colour worn by the bridesmaids.

In Far North Queensland we have highly qualified cake decorators who can help your personal ideas come to life.

Australian Wedding Capitals Guide to Choosing Music

 AWC Signature
Selecting the right entertainment for your wedding day need not be a big drama. Here are some key questions you may be asking yourself and corresponding tips to help you select the best live entertainment for your wedding reception.

 What kind of live entertainment do I want for my wedding day?
 Will the musical performance match my expectations?
 How much should I spend to engage professional Musicians?images (15)
 When do I need to book the entertainment?
 Do we need mood lighting?
 How do I choose a suitable musical group?

With many things to think of when planning your special day, music and entertainment should be very high on your “must do” list. Get in early and book your favorite so you don’t miss out.

There will be so many magical moments happening during your day, and your dance floor fun may be the last of them, but equally important. This is when your guests can relax, let their hair down and really celebrate the union of their loved ones.

Music is extremely important. Whether you decide to hire a live band, a Cairns DJ or soloist; whomever you employ should have the ability to listen to YOUR wishes; also the talent to read a room and change the tempo accordingly.

The most expensive isn’t always the best, do your homework and make sure you connect with whom you choose, as great communication can bring out the best for your celebration. Our website will lead you to many of the best Far North Queensland has to offer.

images (21)Along with the music is the mood lighting, and it has the ability to create a very romantic atmosphere; it can hide faults in a room that you may  not wish to be seen, and your planner can help with this. It can change in a split second from a mellow romantic mood, to bright and cheery and ready to get the party started mood. It has a very unique role.

A great way to research is by reading testimonials on the artists web sites; sitting down with them if you are able, or calling on the phone and hearing their voice; or even better is by word of mouth.

Provide them a sample range of the style of music you want. Remembering to include your choice of songs for walking down the aisle, signing your register, entering your reception, dinner, cutting the cake, bridal waltz, and of course dance music. If you are unsure of these songs ask them for some suggestions.

Don’t forget to include music for the older members of your family as well, they will enjoy joining in and celebrating with you too.

The Hon. Warren Entsch MP Federal Member for Leichhardt

We would like to share with you the following words that the Hon. Warren Entsch MP. wrote in support of developing this region as the Australian Wedding Capital.

Thank you for your kindness Warren, and your words made us very proud, and we are even more excited about our mission for the wedding industry here in the Far North.

It’s no secret that tourism is an economic mainstay of our region.

That’s why, when I come across new initiatives and ‘outside the box’ ideas that aim to build on our existing assets and strengths, I’m quick to throw my support behind them.

In this case, I want to congratulate a local couple who have this week launched a fabulous and innovative concept that will help to diversify our wedding tourism industry in the Far North.

Andrea and Greg Mullens are promoting a new brand for the region, ‘Australian Wedding Capital’, making the most of FNQ’s beautiful wedding settings, agreeable climate, extensive accommodation options and experienced service and hospitality sectors.

They have launched a website, which is a one-stop shop for people to research their wedding needs in the Far North, as well as promoting the professionals that work in this unique field, making it as easy as possible for visitors to have the wedding and honeymoon of their dreams.

They operate the Palm Cove Cam, also known as the Cairns Beach Cam, a 24/7 window for the world to see onto beautiful Palm Cove beach.

It’s a brilliant idea and particularly effective when you consider that people can get married on the beach and have their wedding service broadcast via web cam so that friends and relatives who can’t be there in person can still participate in the union in real time.

I can easily envision a middle-class Chinese family coming to Cairns for a combined wedding and holiday, staying at Aquis, holding the wedding on the beach at Palm Cove, and enjoying our beautiful natural assets and hospitality while they are here.

We need to add as many strings as we can to our tourism bow.  Palm Cove is already a destination in its own right but this will reinforce its place on the map.

Now it’s time to get behind Andrea and Greg Mullens and show our support, making sure we find a way that their initiative can succeed – rather than excuses as to why it can’t.

I’d also encourage all local businesses or suppliers who have involvement with the wedding industry to take a look at the ‘Australian Wedding Capital’ portal. And why not start tagging photos on social media with “Australian Wedding Capital” to grow the recognition of the brand on the web?

The more people who get on board, the more it will assist in growing the region as a whole with flow-on effects from tourism to accommodation and the subsequent benefits to local businesses.
